A primary function of this position is to provide expert level support for LAN/WAN/Network and to provide remediation for computer based problems and peripherals. Provides immediate solutions when possible, furnishes feedback to the customers in a timely manner, informs other support staff on reoccurring problems and issues that are affecting multiple users, participates in the problem escalation process, and enters resolutions into the tracking system. Additional responsibilities include level 2 support for Network Infrastructure Security via Cisco’s ACS/IPS/ASA network appliances, preventive maintenance upgrades on Network Operating Systems (NOS), monitor and revise the SolarWinds Network Management System (NMS), uphold a 802.11b/g/n wireless infrastructure for Voice/Data/Video/Asset tracking, support and perform routing (L3) and switching (L2) functions as required by the Network Engineer. In collaboration with the Network Supervisor provide support on a variety of computing and application services such as e-mail, Enterprise Network archiving/backup, remote VPN access, Windows OS upgrades, Storage Area Networks (SANS), support desktop/server Virtualization via VMware. Participates in correspondences and or dialogue with Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s vendors. Covers Data Center for scheduled times and other shifts when necessary. Assures that all computers and associated equipment in the Data Center are operational and performs related Data Center duties. Interfaces with Managers and hospital staff on day-to-day operations and new projects. Will be required to troubleshoot problems at remote Physicians offices via remote access or onsite, and partake in the weekly IT OnCall support services (required to carry hospital provided phone and Laptop).
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Network Systems (preferably) or equivalent education/experience. 4-6 years’ experience in the following technologies: Windows 2012/2016,2019, Wireless Enterprise Support and configuration, Deep Knowledge of VMWare – Servers and Virtual Desktops, Deep knowledge of Cisco FC and FI (Inter-connect) Configuration and Maintenance. Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching equipment configuration, Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS, Ethernet and TCP/IP protocols, switching and routing protocols, Checkpoint Firewall hardware and software configuration, Network security principals and protocols , Cisco Call Manager and VOIP topology and configuration, Cisco Call Center software installation and configuration, network security and bandwidth monitoring tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems. Excellent customer service skills in person or over the phone. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
